The farmhouse was clean, comfortable, and very affordable. The cheerful farm setting was matched by the kind and friendly hosts, Bill and Jeanette. We are planning to go back soon. The breakfasts were yummy, especially the egg casserole and the blueberry dessert. These folks really know how to live simply, work hard, and kindly open their home for a true working farm experience!
The house is unique and has many vintage pieces and an old-happy ambiance. It's is surrounded by large open fields, adjacent to a small farm. The entrance area for guests is separate from the main living area, so if you are looking for time to clear your mind or a great refuge, this hideaway provides many quaint spots, fresh air and sounds of nature.
My parents, 2 sisters and I stayed here during the weekend of the U Pitt Johnstown Graduation. It was extremely relaxing and clandestine. The owners are extremely friendly and engaging.
We had a wonderful experience staying at Schantz Haus. Bill and Jeanette were wonderful hosts and treated us like family. Yummy breakfasts that even my picky children found things they liked. My children love animals so they absolutely loved the farm setting. I highly recommend this B&B and hope that we will be able to stay there again soon.

The people there were very nice and accommodating and the breakfast was great. The rooms were cleaner and more comfortable than expected, similar if not better than any hotel in the area. The location was great because it was at most 5 minutes from the house we were going to. Couldn't recommend them more!
